Privacy Policy
11max is an 11+ practice app. Parents create an account and add their children, who practise with their own sign-in. This policy describes what personal data we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
1 · Overview
This policy applies to everyone who uses 11max: parents and the children they add.
2 · Data we collect
We collect information you give us and information created as you and your children use 11max:
- Account data: your first and last name, your email address and your password, which we store only in a form that cannot be read back.
- Children’s profiles: the name you enter for each child, the username you pick, a word password we generate (stored only in a form that cannot be read back), their school year, the character they build and any topic you set for them to focus on. A first name or nickname is enough.
- Learning data: your children’s answers, scores, time spent, progress, streaks and rewards, the schools you save, and any note a child adds when they report a question.
- School search: a postcode you type is looked up with postcodes.io, a free postcode service, directly from your browser. If you choose to use your location, your device’s location is used to find nearby schools. We don’t store either with your account.
- Payment data: handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. We keep your subscription status and Stripe’s references to your account; Stripe keeps your payment history.
- Usage data: product analytics (PostHog, on EU servers) and error reports (Rollbar) covering page views, clicks, product events and technical failures, which can include your IP address and browser details. Analytics links a parent’s activity to their email address and a child’s activity to their username. We record the sessions of signed-in parents and children, and the sign-in and sign-up pages, to find where the app gets in the way. Anything typed into a form is hidden in those recordings, but what the screen shows, such as your name, your email and your children’s names, can appear in them.
3 · How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide the service: practice, progress reports and school information.
- Send emails about your account and your children’s progress, such as sign-in help and the weekly progress report.
- Send marketing emails from time to time: tips, reminders about your children’s practice, offers and product news. These are on when you create an account; turn them off any time with the unsubscribe link in any of these emails. Emails about your account, payments and your children’s progress, including the weekly report while you have an active plan, still come after you unsubscribe.
- Write short progress summaries for you and your children with an AI model.
- Secure the service and prevent abuse.
- Understand how 11max is used and improve it.
We do not sell your personal data.
4 · Sharing
Data is shared with the service providers that power 11max, who handle it on our behalf: Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics and session recordings), Rollbar (error tracking), Resend (email delivery), Zoho (our email inbox, which keeps a copy of the emails we send you), OpenRouter (AI text and read-aloud audio, passed on to the AI model providers it uses, such as OpenAI), postcodes.io (postcode lookups) and our hosting providers.
To write progress summaries (in the app and in the weekly report email) and the encouraging messages your child sees, the AI model receives your child’s first name and practice statistics. Hints receive only the question and your child’s school year; questions and read-aloud audio involve no personal data.
Our team gets short notices in Slack, our internal messaging tool: when a parent signs up, adds a child, pays or cancels (with the parent’s name and email, the child’s name and school year, the amount paid, and any comment left in the cancellation form), when a referral earns a credit (with both parents’ email addresses), and when a child reports a question (with any note they added, but not who sent it).
If you join through another family’s referral link, that family is told your first name when you subscribe, so they know their credit came through.
5 · Cookies & analytics
We use a small set of cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember choices on this device and run the analytics described above. Read the detail in our Cookie Policy.
6 · Retention & deletion
To delete your account, email hello@11max.kids from the address on the account. We cancel any subscription, then delete your account, your children’s profiles and their learning data from our database. Question reports a child sent stay with the question but no longer link to your child. Stripe keeps payment records as required for financial compliance. Some copies may remain for a while in backups and in our service providers’ systems.
7 · Your rights
Depending on your location you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, including your children’s. Email hello@11max.kids and we’ll help.
8 · Contact
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@11max.kids.
